Install WordPress locally on your Mac with Local WP (recommended)

Local WP is a WordPress development tool that allows you to easily set up a local server on your Mac computer. You can also use Local WP on Windows and Linux to set up WordPress.
First, you need to visit the local website and click on the “Download” button in the upper right corner of the screen.

A pop-up window will then open for downloading local files.
Here we choose Mac as the platform.

On site you will then be asked to fill out a short form.

Download now
This will download the local installation file to your computer. You can open the downloaded file by double-clicking it once it is downloaded.
A setup wizard will then appear to guide you through the process of installing Local on your computer.
Mac users simply need to drag the local application into their Applications folder.
