Remembering the National Poet with respect and love on his birth anniversary

Today is the 11th Jyishta (May 25). The 119th birth anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. The day is being celebrated with due dignity.
Meanwhile, people from all walks of life flocked to pay their respects at the national poet's shrine since early Friday morning on the occasion of his birthday. First, teachers, students and officials and employees of Dhaka University (DU) went to the poet's shrine premises in a procession and laid wreaths at his tomb. Then, tributes were paid by various social and political organizations.
This year, the theme of the poet's birthday is c level contact list 'Kabi Nazrul in National Awakening.'
After paying homage, a memorial meeting was held at the premises of Kabir Mazar under the chairmanship of DU Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin. In which, Director of Dhaka University Nazrul Research Center Professor Dr. Begum Akhter Kamal, Distinguished Poet and Social Welfare Research Institute Professor Dr. Muhammad Samad, Professor of the Department of Bengali Dr. Soumitra Shekhar, Proctor Professor Dr. AKM Golam Rabbani spoke. President of the Officers Association Syed Ali Akbar delivered a welcome speech.
Nazrul's poetry was recited by the acting registrar of the university, Md. Enamuzzaman. The chairman of the Bangla department, Professor Dr. Bhishmadev Chowdhury, conducted the program. At the program, the teachers and students of the department performed music under the leadership of the chairperson of the music department, Dr. Mohsina Akhter Khanam (Lina Tapsi).
In the president's speech, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin described the national poet as a poet of humanity, non-communal and harmony.
He said, 'Humanism is the main tone of the national poet's consciousness. Many people try to do various politics with Nazrul, who possessed a multi-dimensional consciousness, and interpret Nazrul from different perspectives. In the true sense, Nazrul was a protester against suffering, suffering, torture, and oppression.'
He further said, 'Kazi Nazrul Islam inspired everyone with Bengali consciousness against the British. He created the impetus for national awakening by firmly standing against inequality and injustice.'
